These limits come from how bundles work on Shopify, not from this app. We list them up front so you can decide before installing. If something here is unclear, email support@kumicommerce.com before you install and we will answer.
Products, stock and shipping
A bundle is not a separate product with its own SKU. You cannot set a shipping profile or a delivery rate for the bundle itself.
Bundle stock follows the components. You cannot choose which location fulfills it.
Bundles cannot be edited in bulk, cannot be nested inside another bundle, and cannot be used in exchanges.
Bundles cannot be combined with subscriptions, pre-orders, or try-before-you-buy.
A bundle built this way cannot be published to the Google & YouTube channel.
There is a practical ceiling on how many products you can offer across all your bundles, at roughly 250 in total. Shopify does not hand a function any setting larger than 10,000 bytes, and your product list has to fit inside that. If you go past it, the app refuses to save and tells you, rather than saving a bundle that would quietly stop discounting.
Your store and theme
Your store needs the Online Store channel and a theme that supports app blocks. Older themes that use a product.liquid template cannot hold the bundle picker.
Stores with checkout.liquid customizations are out of scope.
Prices and discounts
Automatic discounts and discount codes can apply on top of the bundle price. The bundle price is written onto the cart line, not applied as a Shopify discount, so any discount that also matches is applied on top of it. The app never adds the parent product to a collection, but a collection with automatic conditions can still match it. A discount that targets the parent product directly, a discount on all items in the cart, an order-level discount, or a discount code does reach the bundle line. If you run those alongside bundles, place a test order and check the amount charged.
If you price a bundle by total instead of by percentage, that total is the price the customer pays. It does not follow later changes to the component prices. If a component goes up, your margin goes down; if the components together fall below your bundle total, the discount stops applying until you lower it.
The parent product
The app creates one product per bundle, named after the bundle, with the product type "Bundle parent" and a nominal price. Shopify requires it to be published for bundle pricing to work, so it is published to your Online Store and can be found through storefront search.
The app marks it as requiring components, which stops customers buying it on its own. If Shopify refuses that setting on your store, the app tells you so when it creates the bundle. The product still has to stay published, so in that case a customer who finds it could buy it on its own at its nominal price; keep it out of your navigation and collections.
When you delete a bundle, the app takes its parent product off your Online Store, so it stops appearing in storefront search. The product itself stays in your Products list, because past orders refer to it and removing it would break refunds and order edits.
When you uninstall the app, Shopify archives the parent products, so they leave your storefront but stay in your Products list. If you reinstall, the app creates new parent products for your bundles. Delete the archived ones yourself if you no longer want them.
Orders
A bundle is one line in the cart but separate lines in the order. The order, packing slip and inventory show each chosen product on its own line, so that stock and fulfillment work per item.
The bundle discount is written into each line's unit price, which means the order's discount total stays at zero even though the customer paid the bundle price. To check a bundle order, compare the line prices with your regular prices rather than looking for a discount amount.
